The New York State Foundation for Science Technology and Innovation
New York State Center for Advanced Ceramic Technology (CACT) at Alfred University.
The CACT’s electron microprobe measures trace elements in amounts as small as 100 ppm. It also indicates the composition of the material being probed.
Our thin film chemical vapor deposition equipment applies film as thin as 10 angstroms, which is useful for creating integrated semiconductor circuits or for applying protective films onto other materials.
The new microwave kiln at the Ceramic Corridor Innovation Center’s nano-structured electro-ceramic pilot facility functions at ambient atmospheric pressure as well as in vacuum operation mode. Compared to conventional firing processes, it can sinter large loads of virtually any oxide or non-oxide material in a fraction of the time—up to a temperature of 2000° C.
The CACT’s high-temperature x-ray diffraction equipment performs in-situ phase analysis of materials over a temperature range of RT-1600° C.
This stereo zoom microscope is used to perform fractographic analysis.
